Celebrating 10 Years of Fascial Connections

Ten years ago, Fascial Connections opened its doors with one simple hope.

To create a place where people felt safe.

Safe to arrive exactly as they were.

Safe to be heard.

Safe to be supported.

Safe to allow healing to unfold—whatever that healing looked like, however it sounded, and however long it took.

Healing has never been about fitting into a timeline or following one prescribed path. Every body carries a different story, and from the very beginning, I wanted Fascial Connections to be a place where those stories could be honoured with compassion, curiosity, and care.

As I reflect on the last ten years, my heart is simply full.

Full of gratitude for every patient who trusted us.

For every conversation.

Every breakthrough.

Every tear.

Every laugh.

Every celebration.

Every setback.

Every opportunity to witness the resilience of the human body and the courage of the people living within it.

Most of all, I am grateful for the remarkable people who helped bring this vision to life.

Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of working alongside an extraordinary group of practitioners and administrators who each left their own mark on Fascial Connections:

Tara Freel, RMT
Michelle Thibodeau, Cancer Coach
Elizabeth Seaton, Life Coach
Nicole Mielke, RMT
Sarah Butler, Physiotherapist
Andrea Feesey, RMT
Lori Trautmanis, RMT
Christine Kelly, RMT
Shea Puckett, DOMP
Liza Fortier, Physiotherapist
Victoria Birch, Integrative Bodyworker
Tanya Sylvester, Administrator
Catherine Barr, Administrator and soon-to-be Canine Massage Therapist

Each of these incredible people brought something uniquely their own.

Some walked alongside Fascial Connections for many years.

Others were part of the journey for a shorter chapter.

Each helped shape the clinic into what it became.

Together, we have supported countless patients through pain, injury, surgery, trauma, grief, recovery, uncertainty, celebration, and healing.

Together, we have held space for some of life’s hardest moments.

Together, we have celebrated some of its most meaningful ones.

Together, we created a place where people could feel safe, supported, and deeply cared for.

One of the dreams I held from the very beginning was to create a clinic where Myofascial Release was not simply one treatment option, but the philosophy that guided how we cared for people.

I found my passion for Myofascial Release early in my twenty-year career. It resonated deeply with how I believed healing should be approached: gently, patiently, and without forcing the body to become something it was not yet ready to become.

It would have been easy to allow more mainstream approaches to become the primary focus of the clinic.

Instead, we chose to remain true to our specialization.

We believed the body had a story to tell.

We believed pain was not always where the story began.

We believed healing was more likely to unfold when people felt safe.

We believed curiosity was just as important as knowledge.

Looking back, I cannot help but smile with pride at what we accomplished.

Not because it was always easy.

But because we remained true to who we were.

The last ten years asked much of all of us.

We navigated a global pandemic.

We rebuilt after an electrical fire temporarily displaced our clinic.

We experienced change, uncertainty, loss, and growth.

Through it all, our team continued to show up with compassion, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to the people who trusted us with their care.

One of the philosophies that quietly guided Fascial Connections from the beginning is that becoming a better therapist is not only about learning new techniques.

It is also about continuing to learn about ourselves.

Every course we attend.

Every teacher we learn from.

Every experience that stretches us personally.

Every challenge we work through in our own lives.

Each one gives us an opportunity to show up more fully for the people we serve.

As therapists, we do not simply treat with our hands.

We treat with our presence.

With our ability to listen.

With our willingness to remain curious.

With the compassion that often comes from doing our own work.

I have always encouraged the practitioners at Fascial Connections to continue learning—not only professionally, but personally as well.

Because the more we understand ourselves, the more space we can hold for others.

I truly believe our patients have benefited not only from the education we pursued, but from the people we each continued to become.

As an owner, one of my greatest joys was never simply growing a business.

It was watching remarkable people grow.

Supporting continuing education.

Encouraging curiosity.

Celebrating new ideas.

Learning from one another.

Watching practitioners discover new passions, build confidence, and continue becoming the therapists and people they were meant to be has been one of the greatest privileges of my career.

Looking back over the last ten years, I realize Fascial Connections has always been about relationships.

Every patient who entered our doors brought their own story.

Every therapist and team member who became part of the clinic added to ours.

I have always believed that people enter our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime.

Today, I am grateful for every reason.

Every season.

And every person who helped shape this journey.

I also recognize that dreams are rarely built by one person alone.

Behind every course.

Every conference.

Every new idea.

Every leap of faith.

Stood my family.

Quietly cheering me on.

Believing in me.

Supporting my dreams, even when those dreams required sacrifice from them too.

There were celebrations I missed.

Good morning hugs.

Bedtime kisses.

Time with family and friends.

Moments I cannot get back.

For many years, I believed those sacrifices were simply part of building something meaningful.

Today, I see them differently.

If these past ten years have taught me anything, it is that building something meaningful should never come at the expense of the people who make life meaningful.

As Fascial Connections begins its next chapter, so do I.

I still have the same curiosity.

I still have the same passion to learn.

I still believe I will forever be a student.

But I also want to create more space.

More space for family.

More space to be present.

More space for life.

Because success is not only measured by what we build.

It is also measured by the moments we are present enough to experience.

After much reflection, I have made the decision that it is time for Fascial Connections to begin its next chapter.

Just as our bodies continually adapt in remarkable ways to support us, I believe businesses do the same.

They evolve.

They reshape.

They respond to where life is calling them next.

Fascial Connections is about to shapeshift once again.

This fall, Fascial Connections will begin an exciting new chapter in a new space nearby, thoughtfully designed to support the continued evolution of our practice. I look forward to sharing all the details with you very soon, once everything has been finalized.

While the address will change, the heart of Fascial Connections will not.

This new chapter will allow me to continue offering the work that has always been closest to my heart while creating space for ideas that have been quietly growing for many years.

Within our new clinic, I look forward to continuing my Registered Massage Therapy and Myofascial Release practice, offering group Myofascial Release experiences and educational opportunities, and welcoming canine Myofascial Release into the space.

Beyond the clinic walls, I will continue developing equine-assisted experiences and equine Myofascial Release in the environments where horses naturally live and work.

Although our home is changing, my commitment remains the same: to create a place where people—and now canines too—feel safe, supported, heard, and respected within their care.

As for our current team, some plans are still unfolding.

Rather than speaking for anyone before their decisions are finalized, I want each practitioner to have the opportunity to determine and share their own next chapter.

As those details become available, we will keep our community informed about where each practitioner will be continuing their work.

One update I can share is that Christine Kelly, RMT, will be focusing her practice exclusively at Kars Massage Therapy.

Christine has been dividing her time between Fascial Connections and Kars Massage Therapy, and this transition will allow her to continue her practice in one location.

I am deeply grateful for the compassion, skill, and care Christine has shared with our patients and our community. I know she will continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of the people she serves.

Further updates about the rest of our team will be shared as plans are confirmed.

No matter where each person’s path leads, I know the practitioners who have been part of Fascial Connections will continue bringing their knowledge, compassion, and gifts into the communities they serve.

That will always be one of the things I am most proud of.

To every patient who has ever trusted us:

Thank you.

Thank you for allowing us into your lives.

Thank you for sharing your stories.

Thank you for your courage.

Thank you for your trust.

Thank you for reminding us, every day, why this work matters.

Ten years ago, Fascial Connections opened its doors with one simple hope:

To create a place where people felt safe.

Today, as one chapter gently comes to a close and another begins, I hope every person who has ever walked through those doors knows this:

You helped make that dream a reality.

Thank you for allowing Fascial Connections to become far more than a clinic.

Thank you for helping make it a community.

The next chapter is beginning.

A few moments from the last ten years.

While it’s impossible to capture a decade in a single collage, these moments remind me that Fascial Connections has always been about people, relationships, learning, laughter, and community.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Tara Hagan-Fields,
Owner | RMT | Myofascial Release Practitioner
