** Summertime is Upon Us!
June 18, 2024
As the temperatures rise, it’s crucial to prioritize your self-care. Take time to enjoy it and look after your entire well-being. Long car rides, outdoor activities, and a more hectic lifestyle can increase discomfort, aches, and pains.
Here are some helpful tools to benefit your body. Look at items near you in a new light:
* Roll up a beach or hand towel in the natural curve of your lower back to support it, especially during long car or plane rides, as it helps maintain proper posture. You can also use these under your bum bones to add lift and support when needed.
* Use a small ball, maybe even the one you got on your first treatment here, for self-release. Find any spot on your body that speaks to you (feet, legs, arms, shoulder blades, glute, etc), lay or rest into/on this ball. Let yourself melt and soften around. No need to go chasing the pain, your holding pattern will soften when it is ready to let go. Remember, it doesn’t have to hurt to work. If it hurts, soften your approach, try a softer surface, take some air out of the ball, or fold a blanket or towel over the ball and start again.
Whether you are participating in strenuous activity or relaxing around a pool, take some time to promote relaxation, and allow for release.
Hydration!!! Flavour up your water 🙂
Add some fresh mint, cucumber, or your favourite fruit.
Want your water to stay colder longer?? Freeze Them!
You can even add a favourite electrolyte.
Remember, while self-care is important and our therapists are here to support you…they, too, will be taking some well deserved time off!
That said, appointments can fill up quickly, so we encourage you to plan ahead to ensure a space.
If the therapist you regularly see isn’t available, consider scheduling your appointment with one of our other amazing therapists.
