Re-Opening the Clinic!!!
We have missed you all and we are so excited to be back in the clinic and able to provide care to you! Thursday June 4th, 2020 will be our first day back!
There is a lot of information in this post, so please take the time to read it carefully.
As we re-open, please know that it will be a gradual return. Therapists will be prioritizing care of patients, as we have been asked to limit the number of in-person visits. A list has already been started, from our last email and patients needing to return to treatment plans or who are in a state of necessary need/acute pain will be able to call and schedule appointments or email us at info@fascialconnections.ca. Online scheduling will not yet be available until other measures are lifted by our governing Colleges and the Government of Ontario.
You will notice there will be a few changes in how the clinic will operate so that we can keep you and our therapists safe. We will be operating in a reduced capacity and spacing our patients out to reduce the possibility of contact with other patients and therapists. Chairs, tables and other objects such as kleenex, elastics, glasses and water pitchers, which are usually on hand to make your experience comfortable, have been removed for the time being. If you need anything, please ask. However, we encourage you to bring your own water bottles for you to drink from, as well have a bag with you to put your personal belongings in. We hope to minimize the contact of surfaces within the common spaces. We also ask that you avoid handling any of the self care tools that are on display. If your therapist feels you need these materials, they will speak to you about it, show you how to use them, and the charge will be added to your invoice.
If you have been in contact with anyone who has symptoms or if you have been out of province, you must wait 14 days before coming in. If you are a front line worker, please disclose this to our therapists when booking. Special arrangements can be made to have you seen at the end of our treatment day.
To keep everyone safe, when you book your appointment you will be asked to complete a COVID-19 screening questionnaire. It will come via email with your confirmation and/or reminder email. If you do not get these, please let us know and we will email it to you. Ensure you check your junk mail. If we do not have a completed screening 24 hours prior to your appointment, your appointment may be cancelled and you may be charged for the cancellation. If you have any symptoms at all, please call and cancel your appointment. You will not be charged for cancellation due to symptoms or because of a positive screening. You will be asked the same screening questions again prior to your treatment starting. Please be patient with this process. If you show up and are symptomatic, your therapist will have the right to refuse treatment and you will be charged for your time slot without treatment being provided.
All of our therapists will also be completing a screening themselves prior to your appointment and may need to cancel if they have any symptoms.
On the day of your appointment, please arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to your appointment time. Do not bring anyone with you unless absolutely necessary. If you must have someone with you, they will be asked to provide their name and phone number in case of a Covid-19 occurrence for contact tracing purposes. We ask that these individuals leave during your treatment and return at the end to pick you up. While in the clinic, we ask that the abide by our clinic rules set in place, such as wearing a mask and hand washing or sterilizing.
When you arrive in the clinic, you must wash your hands with soap and water and place the hand towel provided, in the laundry basket outside the door. You also must wear a mask while in the clinic and for your treatment. We ask that you arrive at the clinic wearing a mask or a mask will be provided during your time in the clinic. If you prefer a disposable mask, a fee will be charged. As always, we encourage you to bring comfortable clothing for your treatment, no clothing will be provided by the clinic.
Social distancing measures will be in place inside the clinic common spaces. Your therapist will bring you to your treatment room, as soon as possible. You may not be in “the usual room” as in the past, and over the course of your treatment plan this may continue to change. We are staggering appointments and reducing the number of clients being seen in order to facilitate this. As a result, less treatment times will be available throughout the week.
Your therapist will be adhering to their schedule and will not be able to run past your treatment time. We will be making every effort to eliminate any crossover or contact within the clinic between patients, and allow enough time for proper sterilization. For this reason we ask that you be on time for your treatment. Any patient who arrives late, may have to wait for a safe time to enter the clinic and that time will be taken off of your treatment time, with no extra time added and at the regular rate you were scheduled for.
There are mandatory processes in place by our therapists’ governing College that they must abide by daily. These have always been: practicing good hand hygiene, sanitizing the treatment rooms and ensuring clean linens, etc. Sanitizing measures will be in place between each client entering and exiting the clinic. Common surfaces will be cleaned regularly. Above these regular processes your therapist will be wearing a mask during your treatment and may opt to wear disposable gloves. After your treatment, your therapist will be sanitizing and then sterilizing the treatment room that was used. The therapist will then switch rooms to provide adequate time between patients being in the same room. Linens will be washed on the hottest temperature and dried on the hottest temperature. We recognize that some of the smells may be bothersome, but please be assured that during this time it is necessary to use such chemicals to help prevent the spread of Covid 19. We will do our best to ensure that the smells are minimized as much as possible.
When your treatment is complete, you will be asked to wash or sterilize your hands when you leave the treatment room. Your therapist will be handing you a client follow-up procedure. Please read it carefully.
To reduce points of contact for you, no cash or gift certificates will be accepted. At this time, you are encouraged to pay with a credit card or debit card. Currently, we are working with our point of purchase provider to explore a tap feature, however we have no confirmation of tap available over $100. When you schedule our appointment, you can choose provide us with your credit card number and we can manually enter it, or you can pay via e-transfer. Opting for this option minimizes your time in the common spaces. You will be issued a digital receipt for your treatment. No printed copies will be available at this time.
Although our rates haven’t increased since 2017, we have opted to keep our current rates the same. However, we will be taking the next few months to do an analysis of the added costs. Come August 1st, 2020, our rates may increase.
Thank you so much for your support! We look forward to seeing you.
